We here at Alden Aurora Gas/ Reserve Gas Company, Inc., would like to congratulate our company’s President, Ms. Challis Cox, on 20 years of exceptional, loyal service.

Challis joined the crew on 7/8/2002 where she took on the role of company comptroller. She diligently worked to keep the company’s financial department in line. She soon realized her background and skills could be used to cross train into different departments of the business, to make herself an even more vital employee. The office staff was small, but she helped make it so that they always accomplished the task at hand.

After some time, Challis’ hard work paid off. On 3/15/2007 Challis was promoted to Vice President of both companies. This was during a time when the company was drilling new wells and taking on things that hadn’t been done in many years. Challis had to learn to wear many different hats during this period. At times she may be a lawyer, or a manager, or a land surveyor, and always a friend who would listen to her coworkers in their time of need. She knew that if she was going to continue to be successful, she would have to keep setting new goals. With her leadership and the team of employees behind her, the company was able to get through a very difficult and trying time.

Jumping ahead in her career, Challis was now effectively running both companies. She made sure to have her finger on the pulse of both the office and the field side of operations. This helped to ensure that both sides ran as efficiently as possible. Seeing this, the then President/CEO Stirlin Harris made what he described as an easy decision to promote Challis to the position of President on 6/20/14. Stirlin even went as far as to say he felt Challis would be the best President the companies had ever had, himself included. He could see her hard work and drive for the company. The company had become more to her than just a job.

Now, as the last 20 years seems to have flown by, Challis is still at the head of our small 10-person crew. She continues to guide and make decisions for the company to help keep it viable into the future. She has now begun to take on a bit of a mentoring role, as she passes on some of the skills and traits she has developed over the years. This will allow for the business to continue to operate well into the future.

Thank you, Challis, for being a true leader and giving all the time and effort you have to these two companies. We are looking forward to many more years of success with you leading the way.
